ABOUT

A native Coloradan and the creative force behind Quilting Renditions, Kari Nichols has built an impressive career around her lifelong love of color, fabric, and design. Growing up in a family of seamstresses, she was surrounded by creativity, fabric, and quilts from an early age, laying the foundation for what would become a remarkable career in the quilting industry.

Kari’s creative journey first took shape through stained glass art. When one of her favorite pieces was broken, recreating the design in fabric seemed like a natural solution. That moment sparked a new passion and ultimately led Kari to quilt pattern design. She spent 20 years designing under the Mountainpeek Creations name, as well as managing one of the largest quilt stores in the Rocky Mountain Region.

Today, Kari is a prolific and respected pattern designer whose designs are sold throughout North America and internationally. Her patterns are consistently strong sellers, including recognition as a top-selling designer through Checker Distributors. They have been featured in multiple publications, including McCall's Quilting, Quilter, Quick Quilts and more.  Through Quilting Renditions, she has created an extensive collection of patterns known for their distinctive style, thoughtful use of color, and broad appeal. Her designs span multiple skill levels, offering quilters projects that feel fresh and contemporary while remaining approachable and enjoyable to make.

When Kari isn’t designing or quilting, you will find her enjoying her Grandchildren, her German Shepard Eva, traveling, and occasionally jumping out of airplanes!
